Essential Oils

Oils are used for many purposes in the spiritual traditions of the earth-based religions. They can be used much as they are in secular aromatherapy, to create a particular mood, albeit with the intent of heightening one's ability to achieve a religious experience. They are also often used for anointing various ritual objects, particularly candles, or to anoint the participants. This use draws upon spiritual traditions particularly strong in the Medeterranean and Levant but also throughout the world, of blessed oil as symbol of divine favor.

Caution: essential oils should be handled and used carefully. Some can be toxic when taken internally, and some can cause reactions when applied to the skin of sensitive persons. Be sure to have the advice of an experienced practitioner in your spiritual tradition when working with essential oils, particularly if it involves skin contact or ingestion.

Lavender 100% Pure Essential Oil

30 ml bottle of pure lavender essential oil. The name Lavender is derived from Latin lavera, "to wash." As such, it is often regarded as having a particular effectiveness in rituals of purification, as well as having healing properties.

Pepperment 100% Pure Essential Oil

30 ml bottle of pure peppermint essential oil. The sharp piquancy of peppermint is often associated with candies, but many traditions also ascribe healing powers to it.

Essential Oil Basic Sampler Set

Six 10-ml bottles of essential oils -- sweet orange, rosemary, eucalyptus, pepperment, tea tree, and lavender. All 100% pure theraputic-grade essential oils with no synthetic additives or extenders, so you can be confident of their quality and their suitability for use in spiritual traditions that consider artificial ingredients inappropriate for ritual use.
