Candle Holders

Candles are an important part of the rituals of the earth-based spiritualities, and it is important to handle them responsibly to ensure that they cause no damage. Good candle holders ensure that they can be held safely by participants in a ritual without danger of the flame coming into contact with hair, clothing or other flammable objects, and that if they are set on a surface they will remain in place without tipping over or otherwise coming in contact with anything that could catch on fire.

Brass Chamberstick Tapered Candle Holder

This classic design holds tapers (long, slender candles) and has a ring by which it can be easily grasped to avoid having wax drip on one's fingers. Because it is not enclosed, it is generally best used for indoor rituals or on very calm days.

Himalayan Natural Crystal Salt Tealight Candle Holder

This candle holder is excellent for holding the candles for the four quarters, or other ritual uses in which a small candle is called for. The tealight candle sits inside the halite crystal where it is less likely to accidentally come into contact with flammables or burn the user, and its light glows through the crystal to provide a gentle reddish glow. Many traditions ascribe purifying powers to salt on the basis of its preservative effects, so this candle holder may be particularly suitable for rituals of purification or the opening and closing of a circle.

Small Moroccan Style Candle Lantern

This enclosed candle holder is particularly good for outdoor rituals on windy days when you need to ensure that candles are not blown out and nothing is blown into the flame. In addition, they are good for holding illuminating candles for evening and night rituals, or for nighttime illumination in pagan gatherings held in wilderness locations.
